2 Year Checkup

Today (my birthday), I took Marino to the pediatrician for his 2 year physical. This is the last time we will discuss his development relative to prematurity or worry about "adjusting" his age because it's safe to say that Marino has kicked prematurity's butt (with the small exception of lung development). Marino's stats are as follows:

Weight: 26lbs, 2oz = 27th percentile for actual age
Height: 35 inches = 66th percentile for actual age
Head circumference: 50cm = 82nd percentile for actual age
BMI: 15 = 9th percentile for actual age

Pretty amazing, huh?

Our pediatrician says if you double a 2 year old's height, you can estimate their height as an adult. This would make Marino 5'10, a decent height, especially considering my dad is 5'6 and I'm 5'3.

He didn't get any shots at this appointment, just a heel stick for lead testing.

She also did a developmental questionnaire and Marino is advanced in all areas of development.

I was definitely a proud mama today!
