Kites Over Clarksburg

After storytime on Saturday, we headed over to Kites Over Clarksburg at Ovid Hazen Wells Park. This is such a great event! Not only is it free (even the food is free, although donations are appreciated), but there was so much for the kids to do. In addition to the kites (people brought their own, bought kites there or made their own at the crafts table), there was a bounce house, a 4-H demo, games and the great playground at the park to entertain the kids. And even more exciting for us, Aunt RiRi was in town for Spring Break and came to hang out with us at the park!
Marino and his cousin Landyn (6). Landyn is the sweetest boy in the world; I love him! According to Marino, when I was taking the picture, "the sun is hitting me in the eye"
These two have a lot of fun together!

The kite festival was really fun. I really enjoyed seeing all the different kites - some of them were just amazing! My favorites were a 3-D pirate ship kite and a huge owl shaped kite. AND we won free Jersey Mike's subs in the raffle! It's not the Mega Millions, but, hey, it's something!
