Marino aka "Littleness"

Welcome to Marino's World

Welcome everyone! I started this blog so I could stop cluttering up email in-boxes with my musings and pictures of Marino and put everything in one central location. Thank you for taking an interest in Marino as he takes on the world!

Who is Marino?

Marino is our precious baby boy. He was born on July 3rd, 2008 at 32 weeks gestational age (8 weeks early), due to HELLP Syndrome and pre-eclampsia. Only 3 pounds, 2 ounces and 16 inches long at birth, Marino was in the NICU for 4 weeks. He needed CPAP (a ventilator) and had a number of other issues including a low white cell count, jaundice, anemia and a Level I IVH (brain hemmorage). 10 days after his release from the NICU, Marino caught Group B Strep which developed into sepsis (blood infection) and bacterial meningitis and spent 14 days in the Pediatric ICU. His health and happiness are a true miracle and we are grateful for every wonderful day with him.
