Forever Friends

Our Labor Day trip to New York was wonderful. We threw a baby shower for one of my best friends, Rachel, who is pregnant with her first child. Sonia, who is pregnant with her third, is due a month after Rachel.

Rachel and her husband moved to Miami last year, so we haven't got to see them much, but we were so happy to be able to shower them with love. I can't wait to meet the baby!

After the shower, most of the guests headed over to the Walkway Over the Hudson. This was my first time on the walkway, and it was beautiful. I can't wait to go back when it's a bit cooler (Labor Day weekend in NY was extremely humid).

Here's a picture of me and my forever friends. We've all been friends for almost 20 years! It's really amazing to have friends who have been there with you through everything - both the sunshine and the rain.

The shower was at River Station in Poughkeepsie, which has AMAZING views of the Hudson River and the Mid-Hudson bridge. Here's Sabrina in front of the windows after we hung the (pre-designed) onesies for decoration.

Wrenford and Rachel opening a gift from Beverly (Sonia's mom), an amazing quilt for the baby. Wrenford is from Jamaica, so she made a quilt with a tropical feel to it.
We asked everyone to paint onesies of various sizes. This "Bomb Baby" onesie was made by Sabrina as an homage to what we wrote on Bernadette's baby shower cake when she was pregnant with Sabrina - "Welcome the Bomb Baby." What can I say? We were 17. And she is the bomb!

This one was my favorite...private joke between us girls.
The parents to be: Wrenford and Rachel
The boys had a "bottle" chugging contest...it was definately entertaining!
The contest winner, Rachel's dad...

Ok, not really, he totally cheated (opened the top). Wrenford was the winner!

Rachel and Wrenford had a competition to dress a doll...Wrenford's godson, Naresh stepped in to offer some assistance.

Hugs from Naresh...
My beautiful friends
The boy loved the bridge!
