5 on Friday

As always, here are 5 special reasons I am loving my boy this week:

5.  Marino's Gramma got him a new bike for his birthday.  This morning he said "When we get home from camp, we're taking this baby for a ride!"

4.  The other day he told me "Sometimes Max is naughty like a villain."  I'm sure this involved Max trying to eat his food.

3.  Marino's ability to adapt amazes me.  He started camp and immediately loved it.  He can't wait to go everyday and has made a ton of friends.  When we take him to the bus stop in the morning, lots of kids yell "Marino" and rush over to wrestle or race with him. He's so brave and really enjoys life.

2. Marino asked me the other day, "Mommy, how do the Fresh Beats sing without clearing their throats first?  I saw them.  They didn't clear their throats."

1. Last night at bedtime I told Marino to stop talking.  He said, "Mommy, I can't help it. My brain keeps telling me to talk."

Summer is Here!

YAY! Summer is really here! This past week has been a lot of fun.
Swimming,  friends, Rita's, bbq's, camp, outdoor concerts...

Marino and Dylan had a great time in the pool!

We got to celebrate Father's Day and my grandfather's 83rd birthday with family.

We went to Rockville Town Square for Kid's Night. We had dinner with Lauren.

And watched "Mutts Gone Nuts." Marino got to go on stage. He's clearly not shy.

Marino is having an amazing time at camp...Evan and I wish we could go, too!

5 on Friday

As always, here are 5 special reasons I am loving my boy this week:

5. Marino got a bad scrape on his knee a couple weeks ago. This week, he told us in the car one day, "My boo boo is getting better. The skin has crinkles in it again."

4.  Question of the day from my boy:
Marino:  "What do angels do?"
Me: "Um...they watch over people...keep an eye on them."
Marino:  "They watch over all the continents? Africa? Asia? Even New York?!"

3. Bathtime conversation...
Me:  "Marino, you're getting so tan!"
Marino: "What does that mean?"
Me: "Tan? Oh, you know how people's skin gets a little darker in the sun? They get more brown."
Marino: "How did Daddy do that?!"

2.  We had a playdate/bbq with Alex and his family last Friday. Marino had a bad report from camp that day, so we told him no tv. At one point, Alex's little brother Ryan was crying.
Marino said "I cheered him up and made him feeled better. I sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Now can I watch tv?"

1.  We went out to dinner on Tuesday.  We were all getting to-go boxes, when Marino called the waiter over and asked "Can I have some chicken in a box?"

5 on Friday

As always, here are 5 special reasons I am loving my boy this week:

5.  The other day, Marino was eating a sandwich and announced he was done after eating 3/4 of it. I told him to give Max the meat. "Just the meat?" he asked. I said yes. He put his face next to Max's snout. "What's that Max? Mommy, he says he wants the bread, too."

4.  Last night, Marino was "wrestling" with his stuffed robot at bedtime. I told him to stop, it was time to relax. "Ok," he said, "Let me just turn on Robot's 'no wrestling switch'." He made a beep, flipped the pretend switch, and settled down.

3.  At the park this week, Marino saw a bumble bee on the ground. "Look at this bee!" he said. "He's so cute! I won't disturb him, he's working."

2. Last Saturday, we went to our buddy Madelyn's birthday party at a bowling alley. Marino had such a good time and he told me "I love bowling! It's ok to let the ball be rough with the pins."
His cousin Pacey was there and they were adorable together, as always.

1. On Sunday, we had a relaxing day. Marino spent half the day dressed like this. He loves his super heroes!

End of T-Ball Season

Last weekend was our last two t-ball games of the season (double header). We're kind of sad, but hoping to reunite most of the team again in the Spring. Here's some pictures of the end of the season.

5 on Friday

As always, here are 5 special reasons I am loving my boy this week:

5. The other day, I told him about a remote control Mystery Machine I saw. "And guess who is hanging out the window of it? Scooby Doo!" I said. "Does he come out?" I shook my head. "So, he's just hanging out and enjoying the ride?" So cute!

4.  On Tuesday we had a t-ball end of the season party. I told him we were going to play, eat and get trophies. "We're going to get trophies for eating??!" he asked, incredulously.

3. The boy is clearly not lacking in self-confidence. After his school performance last week he asked, "Mommy, were you so proud of me today when I was singing beautifully and clear?"

2. Last Friday after school, Amie and I took Marino and Alex to see Epic. They both loved it and were mesmerized from the beginning. Marino told me "that was the awesomest movie I ever saw."

1. My mom and stepfather have been here all week babysitting Marino. On Monday night he asked me "So, are you going to go to work again tomorrow and Gramma and Grampa Ray are going to babysit me?" I said yes and he said "Sound good!" and smiled big.
